Re: Creative Sound/Creative Extension

jbeach2646
I have a large disposition that uses 7 soundfonts.  In the Creative Sound version of the disposition, I use Soundfont Bank Manager
to manually load the 7 soundfonts before using the Creative Sound version of the disposition.  Previously (several years ago), when
we made a Creative Sound disposition, the soundfonts would load automatically upon opening the disposition file in jOrgan.
I know that this has not been a capability for more recent versions.  In order to be able to load automatically, do multiple soundfonts have to be combined into one, or is the limitation in loading some incompatibility between jOrgan and the CTLoader.dll.   It is a minor inconvenience to have to load all the soundfonts manually, and, before I go through the trouble of combining all the soundfonts into one large one and change all the bank numbers in a contiguous, multiple-bank, single soundfont, I thought I
should check first to see if that will solve the loading problem?

Hi John,

each CreativeSound element can have its own soundfont, so I don't remember any need to merge multiple soundfonts into one.

What error do you get when opening a disposition with multiple soundfonts?
Have you checked the error log in <home>/jorgan/app.log?

Regards
Sven

Re: Creative Sound/Creative Extension

That looks like the well-known 32bit/64bit mismatch:

Either
- you're running with a 32bit JVM but the creative extension is 64bit
- you're running with a 64bit JVM but  the creative extension is 32bit

"\Program Files (x86)\jOrganAMD64" indicates the former.

Re: Creative Sound/Creative Extension

jbeach2646
Thanks, Sven, I thought as much.  I have both 64-bit and 32-bit Java installed because Google Chrome likes to have both.  I figured
that whichever version of jOrgan I installed would work because both Javas are installed.  I chose the 64-bit jOrgan so I could
use all 8 GB RAM instead of the 4 GB limitation with 32-bit.  Usually, when I install jOrgan I always assign the folder with the bit version, in this case, jOrganAMD64, so I know what version is installed.  I will try  uninstalling 32-bit Java and see if it works O.K.
