Fw: Jorgan Bug?

jbeach2646
Aaron,  When changes are made to the source code, when do they show up in a downloadable version of jOrgan, given the fact that no one or Sven is no longer managing the programming aspect?
Thanks.

The bottom line seems to be, yes - this is a bug in the import
function of jOrgan. It should manage bank values properly.

In line 123, I added

if (preset.getBank() != bank) continue;

I'm not sure what other errors this might introduce, but it helps my case quite a bite.

Thank you for asking. I don't have permission to update the official jorgan code base. Well, I haven't checked, but I haven't been told anything ;-) I have only changed my local copy of the code.

The answer to your question: "when do they show up...?" is roughly never. Of course, jorgan is free software, and I am happy (nay, required) to share. My source code copy of jorgan is online; let me know if you would like to know where you can find it. I don't have a "compiled" version of jorgan or an installer with my changes in it.

Anyway, let me know if this change sounds like something you would be interested to have and we can see how hard it is to get it running on your machine.

In Christ,

Hi, Aaron,

Interesting to know that we still have members capable of tinkering with jOrgan source code! I did a bit of 'C' about twenty years ago but the prospect of learning Java and the workings of jOrgan would just about blow my ageing brain!   *:)) laughing

      Have fun,

            Roy.

San Diego Outdoor organ on TV tonite

jOrgan - User mailing list
In reply to this post by jbeach2646
For Southern California viewers, the Spreckels outdoor organ (love this instrument) is featured on Huell's "California Gold" tonite at 7 pm on channel 28. Perhaps I may enlarge my own surround sound (virtual) garden organ one of these days.

Have any of you installed outdoor organs? My touring instrument can be set up anywhere, and a garden setting is a perfect locale. I had to destroy my garden with its bushes, streams, ponds and lighted fountains due to the recent drought, replacing it with desert landscaping (ugh!) that does NOT lend itself to organ speaker cabinetry.

This program is shared with the "Pageant of the Masters" (the outdoor Laguna amphitheatre staging of great works of art I attend often to "borrow" ideas for staging my own productions posing actors as Living Christmas Cards and patriotic statues, etc.).
